Privacy Policy

AquaCalc is a free aquarium calculator website. This policy explains what data the site handles — which is very little — and what third parties (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) collect when you visit. If anything here is unclear, contact us at contact.aquacalc@gmail.com.

The short version

  • Your measurements stay on your device. The numbers you type into the calculators are never sent to any server.
  • The only thing stored is your light/dark theme choice — a single entry in your browser's localStorage. Clearing site data removes it.
  • No accounts, no newsletters, no tracking pixels from social networks.
  • Google Analytics and (when ads are shown) Google AdSense collect usage data as described below.

What we collect

The site has no user accounts and no server-side storage of visitor data. Calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser — they are not transmitted, logged or stored anywhere.

Local storage

One value is saved in your browser's localStorage: aquacalc:theme, which remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It is not a cookie, is never sent over the network, and can be removed by clearing site data in your browser.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage — which pages are visited, from which countries, on which devices. Google sets cookies and receives your IP address (anonymised with IP anonymisation enabled) to provide this. We do not send Google any information about what you type into the calculators.

Advertising — Google AdSense

The site is funded by advertising. When ads are enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
  • Where required by law (EU/UK), a consent banner lets you accept or reject personalised ads before they load.

Ads are clearly separated from the calculators, never cover content, and never mimic interface controls.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar)

Because we do not store personal data, there is generally nothing for us to export or delete — requests can be directed to the third parties listed above (Google provides export and deletion tools in your Google account). Changes to this policy

If the site starts using new analytics, advertising or storage mechanisms, this policy will be updated and the date above changed.
